Korea food vs America food

When I arrived at here, I was surprised by lots of things. One of them is food culture. Actually, in Korea, nobody eat hamburger, pizza and chicken on a daily basis. Such food is sort of instant food in Korea. There are several different things between Korea food and America food.

First of all, Korean eats rice every day. Rice is staple food in Korea and based on the rice, there are lots of side dishes when Korean has diet. In addition, the food that uses water has developed and the food is called “Jjigae”. Since staple food is rice, there are diverse foods by using rice including rice cake, rice ice cream and rice hamburger.

On the contrary, I think there is no word “staple food” in this country and food using meat has developed very well. Moreover, unlike Korea where has well-developed stew food, this country has well-developed a fried and roasted dish. That means I can get such fried and roasted dishes without high cost compared to Korea.

Even though I’ve lived in this country where has totally different food culture, I think we’d better respect their or our own culture and fortunately I’m familiar with America food~!

gameday~!

I have never experienced such big festival in university before. Actually, I really expected this football match game since I bought season ticket. I heard from my friends this festival is the biggest festival in Olemiss. However, the atmosphere of campus seemed to be peaceful and calm before the game day. So, I thought this event was not much bigger than I imagined. But, when I woke up in the day, I could realize that my thought was wrong.

When I went out of my dormitory, I could see lots of people who dressed up and they went to the same somewhere. A friend of mine said that they went to “grove”. After I got there, I was surprised by a number of people gathered at the same place. I could meet IEP friends in there and spent enjoyable time to talk with them. However, even though mingling with them was also funny, I was interested in watching football game. Whenever time was close to start time of the game, I was really excited. So, I hurried to go to the football stadium.

Finally, after some times, the game started and I could not endure my excited emotion. Since I studied the football rule, it was not difficult to understand to watch the game. About 60 thousand people visited in the stadium. The result about the game was victory of Olemiss. I could only remember that I just screamed out and clapped our team. Time almost passed through end of the game upon me unawares. That was so exciting experience. I really expect other football games. In spite of lots of events in this campus, I think this festival is the most important and excited event. I really hope that time passes fast until next gameday.

Beautiful memories

First of all, I cannot wait to tell you about my beautiful Olemiss story. When I arrived at here, Olemiss, I really missed my country, Republic of Korea. Different language sometimes made me depressed and different culture also made me so confused. However, by participating in lots of meeting, such as international meeting and parties, I could get rid of my stress and have invaluable opportunity to mingle with others. In this process, I could broaden my area of friendship and no longer feel homesickness except for reminding a girlfriend of mine.

At this end of semester, there are two things to make me so happy. One of them is that I have precious memories about living in Olemiss. To tell the truth, I had no international friends and experiences to speak with foreigners in person. However, during this semester, I have lots of international friends and they provided me with unforgettable memories. I really thank them for having such precious asset in my life. Another thing is that finally I can meet a girlfriend of mine!!!!! Yeah~!!!!!!!!!! lol ~!!!!!

Anyway, I will not be able to forget about this Olemiss. So, you can expect to live this Olemiss with unexpected enjoyable things~!!

My career goal

My career goal is to enter a famous company after graduating my university. I totally agree with that social reputation of a company is proportionally related with salaries. Even though job stability of such companies is little bit second to other companies, career that I worked there is very useful for transferring other companies. However, the most important to get a job is my interest about the job. I believe although I get a very famous company to offer lots of money to me, if the company is totally different from my major, I am sure the company is no longer heaven. Therefore, I regard vocational aptitude as the first important thing and second is reputation of a company.

Nowadays, I am trying to find such suitable company and preparing good grade and other abilities required by the company. Studying here, university of Mississippi, is one of reasons for getting a such good job. Anyway, I hope that we will be able to get our desirable careers.

household chores and mother's love

To tell the truth, I used to think that household chores are not related with me. Since my mother always had done the chores for me. However, when I performed military service, I realized that that is not easy. Although, washing my clothes, dishes and cleaning my room are not difficult, it is very annoying to do the chores daily. Therefore, whenever I do the household chores, that makes me to think my mother.

Now, I am in not my home in Korea but another country. Thereby, there are little bit lots of chores that I should run without other’s help. Even though this situation makes me to feel homesickness and annoying, on the other hand, such environment makes me to have thankful mind about mother’s devoted love.
